Storage is key to getting the most from virtualisation

Forrester: Achieving full virtualisation benefits depends on storage choice

According to Forrester Research Inc., businesses won't fully benefit from virtualisation unless

they deploy the correct storage for virtual platforms. A survey from the Cambridge, Mass.-based

analyst firm found that organisations are using server virtualisation more for production

applications rather than just deploying it for test-and-development environments. Ninety percent of

respondents said they use virtual server technology for production, up from 78% last year, but

managing storage for virtualisation remains a key challenge.
